“Now… about this pedal. I’m plugging a Custom Shop ’56 Stratocaster into the pedal and the pedal into a Hiwatt Custom 50 clone with a 4×12 WEM style cabinet (a la David Gilmour). I’m no slouch when it comes to British fuzz boxes, and this little guy is a gated, Velcro ripping sound of luscious distortion.
I love it. It has its own style, and I love that there’s history coming out of my amp with the fuzz. The insides look as great as the outside, and that attention to detail is what tops it all off. I hope you’re proud of this pedal because you certainly should be.“

“I first heard of the PEP Box some years ago and wanted to try the sound for myself. This release of the Pepbox® maintains the same looks as it did when it was first issued during the 1960s which is important to me. The pedal is of a solid metal construction and hard wearing and feels very good quality. The dials also have a good quality feel to them and in all, it’s very well put together. Having played electric guitar for a number of years, I mainly used Boss pedals and have favored the classic distortion effects such as the Blues Driver and OD-1 Boss Pedals. I also use a Morley Wah when playing older classic rock with a Fender Telecaster. The PEP Box compliments any player who is looking for the original classic rock sound and reminds me of early Clapton/Cream with it’s punchy fuzz effect for which I find works extremely well when playing rock rhythm. Having said that, it’s probably a sound that players will want to experiment with for more modern genres and perhaps wouldn’t sound out of place in heavier Rock/Metal. I understand there are only limited numbers of these pedals currently produced and adds to the feel that the appropriate time and care is put into the hand built construction. Well worth the money if you are looking for something different to the heavily distorted effects of the modern era!“
